Two serious errors crept into the article upon the currency from the pen of D. L. Braueher of Lincoln, III., which appeared in these columns in the issue of February 25, and which we take pleasure in correcting. As printed, ex-Secre-tary Sherman was quoted as saying that it required “ §50,000,-000 of new money to be put in circulation each month to keep pace with the increased demand/* etc., when it should have been “year.” The other error was in reference to the burning of the*'greenbacks as they were redeemed; which was given at §40,000,000 a month, when it should have been $4,000,000.
