Contest WinnersNamed In MusicSix West Texas State Univer sity Symphony Orchestra Concerto Content winners were announced by WT orchestra conductor Michael Matesky Entrants in the contest were vying for solo appearances with the orchestra in an April 24 con cert in the Fine Arts Auditorium This is the second annual Concerto Concert Matesky noted The purpose of it is to showcase young talent, and to give aspiring music students opportunities for solo perform ance.”The winners were hthei (iooden, senior piano student from Amanllo, bavid Groves, Wellington trumpet graduate student; Unda Johnson, senior soprano from Coppell; Kodney h Miller, senior bass baritone from Midland; Greg Shaffer, junior violin student from El Faso, and Paul Worosello, junior clannet student from Westminister, Colo.Judges Matilda Gaume, John Green, Thomas Hohstadt and Michael Matesky pu ked the winners from a field of lt;f4 contestants
