1918Great Throngs Visit Grube’sNew Wooltex StorePREVE0Many Carroll county people were in attendance Wednesday night at the grand opening of the A. Grube Wooltex store in Ivoj^ansport. It is said to be the finest store of its kind in the country. It is hard to describe the artistic triumph achievedby Mr. Grube in the arrangementand decoration of his store for theopening Wednesday evening. To appreciate it one must see it and a leisurely inspection is necesrfary to get the full impression of what a marvel of merchandising efficiency the store is.The eight big, beautiful garment cabinets occupying the main floor bore Wednesday night handsome paintings by E. Pierre Wainwright of the commanders of the four allied armies and of four of the war presidents of the United States. Great baskets filled with beautiful artificial and real flowers were about the entire store and with the generous display of beautiful American flags threw the big store into a riot of color. There is a color scheme prevailing throughout the store, blue and French gray, cairied into even the painting of the ceilings, the cabinets, the stairs, mezzanine railings, everywhere and it gives a wonderful effect of restfulness and richness. The great crowds that crowded into the store at the opening were lost in wonder and admiration and were royally entertained. Twobands played for them, the Boy Scouts choir sang for them. Boy Scouts lt;md Liberty Guard girls served as ushers for them, cigars were piled out to the men and roses were lavished up on the women. The store wag planned vby A.
