PLA18TEO' .Herman E. Plaiated died Sunday night at hit borne a mile and a half weet of LaGrange after an illness be-ginning May 3, 1917, when he waa atricken with paralyaia and during which he was cared for by hia wife. His age waa 72 years. He was horn at Brewston, Onandagua county, N. Y., and was the son of Plumley and Eliza Shaffer Plaiated. When he was nine years old his parents moved to Reading, Mich.. remaining there one year. In 1868 they moved to Woleottville, where the elder Plaiated worked at the eoepar’s tjrijrie and at wagon making. In 1868 they moved to LaGrange aid built«hum* on Poplar stsaet, Herman Plaiated was united in marriage with Nancy Jana Trowbridge October 29,1873,: I* 18M their only child, Wil-iam Plaiated, waa^bamand both families moved back to Woleottville where the parents diid. In 1909 Mr. and Mrs, Plaiated bought the Kauffman place a mi UCaad a half weet of LaGrange where they had since resided. Mr. Plaiated ft survived by his wife and eon.. The other relativse are a nephew and niece, Albert Hemlin of Woleottville and Mre. Newman of Grand Rapids, three grand nephews and two grand nieces. Funeral Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the residence, Rev. A. R. Harper officiating. Interment at Ontario.
