Watuous Items.DfThe sporting club of Watrous had a meeting the other day for the purpose of witnessing a foot racing the fool race was run between Mr. Frank Carpenter,of Cherry Valley, and Willi* Haim. Several of tho minor events kept up the interest of crowd for some time.Some of tho Gun club are practicing shooting pigeons every morning around town.Judge Woodbury has taken possession of the Carpenter residence, which he lately purchased and is refurnishing it prior to his coming marriage.The wife of H. Isaac Carpenter and family left on Sunday evening’s train for their new home in Oregon.Sir Edwin Dacy, Hart, lately from England, is spending a few days with Dr. Priug.M. Henry Weber and wife leavo on Saturday for St. Louis where they will spend a few weeks with their raarri'' daughter.The Watrous hotel is to be enlarged immediately.
