Col. N. B. Howakd, the last Colonel of the immortal 2d Iowa Infantry, died recently in Georgia, where he had gone for his health. His home was at Lyons, Clinton county. After the war he had filled the office of County Clerk of Clinton county, up to January last. His disease was consumption, from which he had suffered much during the last two years.
