Murder bv A Negro —Ii is with groat pain we are called to record another of those diabolical outrages in our parish, by which the lile of a most excellent and w or thy young man b* the name of Wm.\fWatkins, was sacrificed. It appears that on Saturday last, as Mr. Watkins was in the aet of correcting » negro uiau named Henry, belonging to David Hall, for some misdemeanor, the negro turned upon him with a piece of rail, with which he crushed the unfortunate young man’s skull, causing, it is supposed, instantaneous death. He thou took the body ofhis victim, and covered it up with a j. quantity of cotton Reed in the gin house, ■ alter which, he made bis escape. The : trickling of blood through the floor of 1 the building, led to the discovery of ll •body, shortly afterwards.
