Wednesday, March 9, 1977 Plano Daily Star Courier-Section I Page 7New Beginning(Groundbreaking ceremonies for Che new West Plano Presbyterian Church were held recently at the building site at 2709 Custer Rd. Members of the church assembled to watch as the first shovels of earth were turned, officially marking the beginning of construction on the new church. Adult participants in the ceremony included (left to right) groundbreaking chairman Jim Jacobs, associate general presbyter James W. Newton, First Presbyterian Church pastor Jay Carter Paul, building chairman (Gordon VanderHreggen, Re\ Maurice Harnett, building contractor Warren Harry and architect Mlau Pierce. Not pictured, but also participating in the ceremony were Plano Mayor Pro Tern Hob Kllis. associate pastor Rev. Rebecca Weaver and capital funds chairman Ron Nichols.
