Gilless. a math and physics major, extends to three the number of years Southwest Texas Students have held major offices in the statewide associationThe term for which Gilless was elected will begin about April 1 and w,!lrun through next year’s convention As president of the organization he willrepresent approximately 8,000 memberand 70 chapters at Texas universitiesand colleges at meetings and conven tions across Texas and the nation Vigorous campaigning for the po*t was begun by the 31 SWT delegate* shortly after thev arrived at the con vent ion headquarters in the hotel. The all-night talking paid off Thursdaywhen Gilless was nominated by North Texas State University and then elect ed Friday night The election results were not announced until Saturdaynight.Voting for candidates was done on the basis of the size of each local chap ter of TSEA Southwest Texas’ 15 votes are the maximum any school may have, with the smallest number of 2 being» *assigned to Hill County Junior College When asked about plans for the year. Gilless said MI hope to involve morestudents by planning more activitieswhere members can be active and develop more interest in TSEA The year’s activities include his presiding over various state TSEA meetings and representing the Texas chap ters at the national SEA convention tc he held in Minneapolis, Minn.Gilless named Southwest Texas Staff junior Rosalyn Hester to bo corresponing secretary for his administration. This will make Miss Hester’s third year, the maximum, to serve on the executive board of TSEA She ha* previously served a* vice president and treasurerof TSEAGilless other officers are Linda Fav-lor, vice president, from Texas Chris* tian University; Joan McClendon, recording secretary, from Texas College Janice Behrens, treasurer from Stephen F.
