Laurence K. Callahan and William H. Stovall (above) figure the action they saw against Fokkers in the last war pioneered all this business of aces. Col. Callahan, of Chicago, intelligence officer for Eighth Fighter Command, was credited with destroying five Germans in World War 1 and Col. Stovall, of Stovall, Miss, now Eighth Fighter 'Command Personnel officer,accounted for seven of the Kaiser’s aircraft.
