Order From U. S. Attorney Places 100 Liquor Cases In Circuit Court. More than 00 cases for viola tion of the national prohibition laws in the Harrison division of UW 8. Court were returned to Commissioner Isaac Stapleton from U.S. Attorney W. N. Ivie's office at Fort Smith with instructions to be transferred to the Circuit Court oy prosecution. All cases which are to be trans ferred as the Circuit Court were filed before Commissioner Staple ton since April, 1932 and are fermed new cases. Liquor viola tion coses which are already listed on the federal court decket, and these in which indictments have been returned or information filed will probably be up for final dis position at the next term of fed eral court which will convene here April 3. No explanation has been re ceived by Commissioner Stapleton as to why the liquor cases were transferred to the state court and he has received no orders to dis continue preliminary hearings for dry law violations. With the majority of the liquor caseseing transferred to the state court, the federal court calendar is expected to be unusually light, the greatest number of cases to be disposed of being listed on the civil docket. No grand jury has been called for the coming session, but a petit jury has been selected and will report for duty April 4. The court calendar is being pre pared in Fort Smith. Judge An drew Miller of Vargo, North Da kota, will preside. Of the cases transferred, 34 of them were from Bsone county, 29 from Newton, 15 from Carroll, 11 from Baxter, 9 from Marion, 6 from Madison and two from Sear cy county.
