OCTOGENARIAN ISCALLED SUDDENLYHugh M. Thomson died suddenly Friday morning in the home of hit daughter, Mrs. Robert Malcom, in Moville township. After he had eaten breakfast he v lt;n^ into another room and His daughter hearing a crutch fall followed and found her father had passed on.Hugh M. Thomson was born at Long Grove, Scott county, Iowa, August 5, 1851. His parents wereHugh M. and Jeannie (Robertson) Thomson, natives of Scotland. On July 1, 1888, Mr. Thomson and Mrs, Surah Ellen Lancaster were united in marriage. Two children were born to them, George H., who died in 1914, and Mrs. Grace Malcom, of Moville. Besides Mrs. Malcom there are three stepchildren, W. J. Lancaster, of Chicago; Mrs. Clarence Taylor, of Kingsley, Iowa, and Walter Lancaster, of Anthon, Iowa. Mrs. Thomson died December 17, 1920.Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. Pickersgill in the Federated church Sunday afternoon and burial was in Arlington cemetery. The pallbearers were J. P. Case, Ralph Hunting, W. E. Hail, W, H. Rawson, N. M. Everhart and GuySmeaton.
