An Old Pottery1The oldest pottery in Indiana is that of K. (I. Atcheson located atAnnapolis, near the north edire of 1 Parke couiitv. It was estahlislied iin 1841 and has been in continuous 1 operation ever since. The ware is strong and durable and has a widereputation throughout central Indiana for the excellence of its qual- 1 ity. Tlie potters clay used at this lt;pottery is obtained from Coke Oven hollow, throe miles northwestof Bloominirdale. This is a deep 1 ravine leadintr down to Suirarcreek and frorn which spotters clay was shipped over the old AV abash Erie canal when a feeder eon-hnccted the canal with the mouth of the ravine.
