mAn Old PotteryThe oldest pottery in Indiana is that of K. (!. Ateheson located atAnnapolis, near the north edire of Parke eouiitv. It was establisliedin 1841 and has been in continuousoperation ever since. The ware is strong and durable and lias a widemsliAththtv~\Iattoreputation throughout central Indiana for the excellence of its quality. The potters clay used at this pottery is obtained from Coke Oven hollow, three miles northwest pcowof Bloom inirdale. This is a deep ravine leadimr down to Suirarcreek and frorn which spotters claywas shipped over the old Wabash Erie canal when a feeder eon-*nected the canal with the mouth of the ravine.UCtlStf.n
