An Old PotteryThe oldest pottery in Indiana is that of It. (1. Atcheson located at Annapolis, near the north edyi of Parke county. It was establishedin 1841 and has been in continuous operation ever since. The ware isstron»• and durable and has a wide*reputation throughout central Indiana for the excellence of its quality. The potters clay used at this pottery is obtained from Coke Oven hollow, throe miles northwest of Bloom inird ale. This is a deep ravine leadiny down to Suirar creek and frorn which plotters elavwas sliij^pcd over the old Wabash Erie canal when a feeder eon-*needed the canal with the mouth of the ravine.
