From staff reports sports@dailytimes.com The basketball tradition at Me dina High School lived on this sea son despite losing size and experi ence. The Bobcats finished second to Class A regoinal qualifier Mason in District 29-A and reached the playoffs. On Monday, a big reason why the Bobcats were successful this sea son was honored. Junior Andrew Landry was named the Dis trict 29-A Most Valuable _— Player after averaging 22 points a game. Joining Landry are se niors Armando Rodriguez and Jeremy Black on the first team All-District Junior post player Sammie Williamson was named to the second team along with freshman Mitchell Black. Medina was knocked out of the playoffs in the bi-district round af ter several seasons of deep playoffs runs. Medina senior Armando Rodriguez Center Point players honored. The Center Point High School boys basketball team struggled at times this season in a tough District 29-A, but several Pirates were hon ored Monday as All-District picks. Senior John Wiging ton was named first team All-District after averaging 16.6 points per game. In a 3-way tie for District Newcomer of the Year, junior An dres Ibarra split the award with Woody Watson of Mason and Jaxson Rie besehl of Johnson City.
