of texas DangersA few years ago The Texas Ranger’s Museum, honoring! those early lawmen that helped to rid south Texas of cattle rustlers, smugglers and cither “bandidos”, was established in Falfurrias. In my short trip down there last week I was fortunate Enough to meet several who have played a leading part in gettlrtg this in-( stitution off the igrdund. .Ret. Ranger Captain A. Y.j Allee and the late Ebb Riggs, I U. S. Deputy Marshall, both played important roles in bringing peace and order to the Falfurrias area. Both of thetee men were lawmen of the “old school” and it has been my privilege to listen to their factual and humurous tales of those early days, many of which occurred while stationed at Falfurrias.Last week I met some old-timers who know both Ret. | Ranger Captain Allee and The; late Ebb Riggs. One of these, J an elderly lady, had lived in an! early day Ranger camp: some-' thing very unusual for a wo-1 man. !Now I must get back to Falfurrias for a leisurely trip: through the museum with tape! recorder in hand! !
