Bee And Thistle AdditionTwelve-Unit Motel OpensThe first 12-unit section of a planned 36-room motel, adjacent to the Bee and Thistle restaurant,opened Monday.Work on the first section of the motel, similar m construction to tne restaurant, began in November, 1949. When completed, the motel, a one-story building, will stand In a semi-circular pattern with a flower garden and open court in front. A drive circling in front of the project will permit parking by each unit. A coveted walk will run the entire length of the building and connect with the restaurant.ROOM MEASUREMENT of each unit is 20 x 10 feet, with the exception of the four larger two-family units All rooms are warmed by steam heat piped from the restaurant. Each unit is equipped with a tile washroom.Construction on the remaining two sections s dependent on the availability of materials according to Robert Geyer, manager.Gever said that all concrete con-struction is about as fireproof as a building can be made. Furniture in each unit is constructed of metal.PART OF THE FIRST 12-unlt section of the Bee and Thistle motel which opened tor business Monday. When completed the 36-room project will run in a semi-circular pattern back of the restaurant. Each‘unit will be warmed by steam heat piped from the restaurant.
