The children and grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hughes gathered at their home Tuesday for her and to celebrate Per wedding Mr. Mrs. p namonn โof Mr. and Clymet; was born and lived in Rome township, near nut Grove, where she was united in marriage to Joseph Frank Hughes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hughes, then living a short distance north of the present home; the ceremony being performed by S. W. Flaharty, then justice of the peace, at the home of the bride's Parents, March 3, 1881. For five , the newlyweds farmed near Inut Grove, then they moved to a present homesite about three les northeast of Morley, near interchapel. Two daughters and ur Sons were born to them. Those living are: May, Albert and ony at home, Emmett, at Mar tie, and Otho at Morley. They hare six grandchildren. In addi on to their farm work, Mrs H ughes marketed much fruit and Mr. Hughes was made sexton of the Center chapel about forty years ago and has been caretaker of the Center cemetery for thirty or more years. Mrs. Hughes, who is 66, has three sisters, Elizabeth, now Mrs. Coleman, of Sioux City, Matilda, now Mrs. Hammond, liv ing next door, Imogene in Illinois, and one brother, Dan, of McGregor. Mr. Hughes, age 75, has two sis ters, Belle, now Mrs. James Hewitt, of Kage, and Lizzie, now Mrs. C. in Oregon, and one brother, Hugh Marion. Sage and : es are good health.
