The other day, a house in Putnam, Conn., in which there was a sick negro, was struck by lightning, and some of the neighbors going in to see what had become of him, be peeped out from under the bed-clothes, covered with splinters of wood and broken pieces of plaster, and coolly remarked: “Am dar goin’ to be anuddcr shower, homes?Lorenzo Day having married Hiss Martha Week, a paper comments:“A Day is made; a Week is lost,But the time should not complain;There’ll soon be little Days enough To make the Week again.”
