We have in Cass township two saw mills, one owned by John A. Cummins Son, and the other by Blackburn, Sni der Canada; one steam grist mill owned by Robert Abby; seven coal banks in successful operation, besides Mr. Abby has sunk a shaft at his mill and found splendid coal at Lo fect, but has not got his machinery ready to commence taking coal out yet. -Mr. David Asrey is building a store house at Abby’s mill. -Mr. Raines sold his stock on on the James Snow farm a few days ago. Cat tle sold high. —Mr. James Snow has sold his farm, containing 264 acres, to the sons of the late John W. Davis, formerly of Carlisle. They have taken possession. ~Mr. Alfred Norris sold Sacres of his farm to a Kentucky man for $8250 per acre. Ira contemplates moving to Sullivan. There is a sick man in this township that has cost the county $5 per week for the last four years, besides his doctor's bill, which is, I understand, $5 per visit.
