Back in 1870 Re\. Shields had passed away and his remains were laid away in the old churcbyai d. On Wednesday. October 8, 1913. his :emaiRs were removed to the Catholic cemetery at which time services were held in the church with Father O Connor of Oclwein officiating. The same half dozen men who served, as pali’oearet» 43 \ ears before again served as pallbearers this time when his remains wcic placed in St. Mary s cemetery.
