Short Shrift.—The Evansville Journal,of the 221 ult,, gaya: We learn that Colonel Campbell, of the 17th Ky Cavalry, by per-minion of Gen. Hooker, commanding this Department, crotsed the river a few days agoin pursuit of a number of noted horae-eteal-ing guerrillas, and that the expedition has proved highly successful.He succeeded, as we learn, in gathering in some 15 or 20 of those scoundrels at Saline Mines. Shawneetown, Gray villa and Fair* field They were tried by drum-head court* martial, found guilty and shot.
