Jacksonville police are look ing for information in connec tion to a shooting early Sunday in the parking lot of the Waffle House on Western Boulevard Extension. Police received a call at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday in reference to a fight or disturbance at the Waffle House, said Jacksonville police Capt. Tim Malfitano. “While they were on their way there, it further came up that shots were fired in the parking lot,” Malfitano said. When police arrived, there was no one in the parking lot. Police did find a variety of bul let casings. Police then received a call about a man at Onslow Memo rial Hospital who had been shot above the left knee. Authorities interviewed Jerome Manigan, a 22-year-old Marine who was shot, Malfitano said. “According to the statement given by the victim, he was just going into the Waffle House to get something to eat and was hit by a stray bullet,” Malfitano said. Manigan’s injuries were not life-threatening, although a bul let hit his left leg and a grazed his right leg.
