Ernest Peterson Funeral ServicesFuneral services were held Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church for Ernest Peterson with Rev. Donald Anderson as pastor.Special music included two vocal solos, “My God and I”, and “In The Garden” sung by Marlowe Feldman accompanied by Mrs. Gene McLaughlin, organist.Floral tributes were placed by Mrs. Mary Ann Diehl, Mrs. Stan Buse and Mrs. Marlowe Feldman.Bearers were John Helgeson, Waldo Johnson, Gilbert Garber-ding. Stajj Buse, Carl Dahlstromand Darwin Johnson.Interment was in the Fairfield Cemetery.OBITUARYErnest Rueben PetersonErnest Itueben Peterson was born to Clara and Charley Peterson on a farm west of Albert City on April 19, 1915. He died at his home on March 5, 1975.He was baptized and confirmed in Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was graduated from the Albert City High School. Except for the nearly four years he spent in the United States Army in World War II, he lived his entire life in Albert City working as a farmer and cattle feeder.On November 15, 1941, he was married to Emelia Elisabeth Nelson. They were blessed with four children, Karen Elisabeth, James Ernest, Julie Clara, and Thomas Viktor.In addition to his wife and children he is survived by those who became as dear to him as his immmediate family: Karen’s husband, Dr. John Roberts, his two granddaughters, Laura Anne and Susan Elisabeth, and James' wife, Diunn.He is also survived by four sisters, Agnes (Mrs. Ed Sundholm), Edith (Mrs. Sylvester Pearson), and Laura, all of Albert City; and Ethel (Mrs. Wilbur Lindeen) of Comfrey, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Arvid.Ernie was a member of the American Legion, the Farm Bureau and the Iowa Cattleman's Association. He had also served on the Farmer's Cooperative Elevator Board in Albert City and on the Board at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Presently he was a member of the Farmer's Cooperative Association Board at Marathon, the Albert City Park Board and was a Fairfield Township trustee.Life for us remaining will never be the same without his vibrant personality. His love of life was an inspiration to all who knew him.' Sustained by an abiding faith, he suffered illness and pain without complaint. His kindness and consideration for others will always be remembered by those who knew him as a friend. Ernie lived his life to the fullest, whether it was working at the farming he loved, or having good times with his family and friends.“We pray that he has found peace, and a glimpse of sunset. But today we weep for ourselves. We are lonelier; .someone has gone from our lives who was like the certainty of refuge; and someone has gone from the world who was like a certainty of honor.”BIRTHSFormer residents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Holton now of Delta, Colorado, are parents of a son, Nathan Wayne, born on February 25th, 1975. He has a brother, Craig age 2.
