John Savko, Corry High's wrestling great who chalked up two other firsts in local wrest ling this Season, was first’ and foremost in scoring also. ‘The 120-pound senior mustered 47 points in 12 matches to edge teammate Art Dingfelder in the scoring derby, Sayko, with a 12-0 personal record, became the first Corry grappler ever to win all bouts in one season. He also was the only two-time Section cham pion from the Beaver ranks. Dingfelder, junior 95-pounder, compiled 43 points while win ning ten of 12 matches. In third place was 154-pound senior sensation Larry Puckley whose personal record (0-1-1) was identical to the team leg, Puckley scored 39 points. aunt Dale Fralick, last year’s sead ing scorer, finished fourth with 38 points. The 103-pounder's r ecord was 8-3-1. Last year a5 1 95-pounder Fralick posted 42 warkers. Savko's 1960-61 point production was 38. Scoring is computed as fol lows: six points for a first per iod pin; five points for second or third period pin; five points for a default; three points for a revision victory; and two points for a tie match. Bob Roden, who missed three matches this season, occupies fifth place in the standings. Runner-up last season with 40 markers, Roden notched 35 points this year ‘with an 8-1 mark,’ Sophomore brothers Bob Cul bertson (7-2-2) and Al Culbert son (0-2) combined for 56 points. Bob, 185-pounder, had 31 and unlimited heavyweight At annexed 35. Senior Earl Cul bertson, third brother, tallied six points in the 138 division. Another brother combination, George and John Patterson (both seniors), combined for 24 points. Last year George recorded 34 points as a 198-pounder to rank fourth on the team. This season, as a M45 representative, he placed 11th. All told, there were 15 boys in the scoring column. The Beav ers outscored 12 opponents by a composite 397-157 while com piling 10-1-1 record.
