®— ---MRS. B. A. TURNER LAID TO REST SATURDAY AFTERNOONA pall of gloom swept our little city on Thursday evening of last week, when the death of Mrs. Billie Turner was announced, She had been at the St. Paul Sanitarium in Dallas for several weeks, and her death was expected, nevertheless her passing brought grief to her many friends in this city. She had been confined to her room practically all of the past twelve years, and the attention of the best of rftedical skill failed to stay the hand of death,Mrs. Turner was 34 years of age and the daughter of J. F, Swadley, one of Grand Prairie's pioneer citizens. She was bom and reared in this city, securing her education in the Grand Prairie schools.During her early childhood she 1 was converted and united with the Methodist church, and her life has been a shining example of Christian womanhood. She was active in church work and social affairs, and no doubt but what her faith in Christ made it possible for her to bear the suffering of the past twelve years and enabled her to always remain cheerful and hopeful.Sixteen years ago, this coming August, Miss Alice Swadley and B.A. Turner were united in marriage, and the happy couple have always been citizens of Grand Prairie.Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband, B. A, Turner, and one son,B. A. Turner, Jr. Her father, J. F, Swadley, and two sisters, Mrs. Alex Ward and Mrs. I. A, Couch, and six brothers, Carl, Kermitt, Ray, John, Jay, Quintin, also survive.Funeral services were held from the First Methodist church Saturday afternoon. Rev. B. M, Bounds, former pastor of this church, assisted by Rev. M. H. Reed and Rev. W.P. Roberts, conducted the services. At the grave Father McDonald, of the St Paul Sanitarium, closed the services with a beautiful tribute to the memory of this lovely Christian woman.
