Unable to find out over the telephone what was the matter or how long the power would be off, the management of the theater kept the audience entertained in the dark with its orchestra, which played from memory a score of tunes. After half an hour or more of this, the management concluded the lights were not coming on again for some time and the audience was dismissed, all being given tickets good for a special show held the following night.“The Right to Die,” a 2-reel picture shown in last Sunday night’s program, deserved especial mention as a good film story. At last Friday night’s performance a crowded house greeted the high school orchestra, which played throughout the evening and did splendidly. The orchestra is composed of Lawrence Dever and Miss Helen Larkin, violins; Miss Helen Williams, piano; Leopold Leigl, clarinet; Emil Gowatch and Clarence Downing, cornets; Charles Dever, baritone; Nihl Budlong, alto; Clyde Messenger, drums. The orchestra played a varied program of popular and classical music, each number being warmly applauded.“The Wrath of the Gods,’’ a feature story in six reels, shown Wednesday night, was without doubt the best movie feature ever shown in Marble. It cost the management $30 to produce this picture but it was worth the money and the large crowd present appreciated it thoroughly. This picture merits a much more detailed description than we have space to give it.
