Merton Henry Edwards, non of Joseph and Annie Edwards, was born in Wolcott, N. Y., Jan, 8, 1878, and died in Danville, Ind., March 2, 1911, in his 84th year.His parents, both natives of England, came to the United States in the early 70’s and after a short residence in New York state, came in 1879 to Indiana and to Cambridge City in 1884 The father passed away in 1890 and there now survives only the mother) and a sister.For the past eight years he has been engaged with the Pennsylvania rail way and during the last three years as foreman paiDter on the J. M. I. di j vision with headquarters at Columbus, Ind. IHe came home on Christmas day j and was then sultering from malady that soon developed rapidly. In January he went to a sanitarium at Dan-! ville and while encouraged to hope lor recovery, the end came suddenly on Thursday evening.He was a member of the Masonic order and was devoted to its principles.Merton was a loving son and brother and had a kindly manner that won him friends among bis associates.Funeral services were conducted at the home on Sunday afternoon by Rev. Guicbard. Floral tokens were numerous and beautiful. Interment in Riverside cemetery. The pall hearers were from among bis young friends and associates. Hix members of Cambridge lodge No. 5, F. A. M., acted as an escort.
