Mr. Zangwill is, however, wise enough to devote little time tpxChOfifti-practiee. Mr, Steinitz is the only man who has made Chess “pay 5 and even he could have made far more, say, as a solicitor or a stock broker. The cultivation of Chess by so many Jews is a standing answer to the accusation that they interest themselves in what pays. ~J
