Gets Art AwardThe daughter of a Fieldcrest man has won the art contest sponsored by the Leaksville-Spray Woman’s Club.Miss Sue Kelly, 17-year-old junior at Morehead High School, took top honors with a water color entitled “Louie.” Her painting was put on exhibition with other district entries at the Greensboro Woman’s Club, 223 Edgeworth Street, Greensboro, Sunday, February 25. The paintings were judged by James Tucker, curator of Witherspoon Gallery, Woman’s College, University of North Carolina, Greensboro.Sue is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Kelly of Country Club Drive, Central Area. Mr. Kelly is an engineer in our Data Processing' Department.The local competition was a part of the 1962 Arts Talent Contest, a statewide project of the North Carolina Fed-eraiton of Women’s Clubs. Mrs. Gordon Scott, Jr. was chairman of the contestand Mrs. Henry Knott was co-chairman. The entries were judged by Miss Catherine Berry, of Karastan Designing, and Mrs. Haven Newton.
