She was baptized in infancy and in youth became a member of the Evan gelical Protestant Church.She was married to John Jacob Hartman, Feb. 22, 1807 at Baden Germany. He departed this life April 16 1913. In 1883 they came to America and settled on a farm near Fremont, Ohio. There they joined the German M. E. Church. In 1890 they moved to Fremont, Ind., and had their membership transferred to the German M. E. Church at that place, and remained constant members until death called them home. On several occasions, while suffering intense pain, she publicly showed her faith in God and asked him to call her home.In 1909 she moved to the farm in California township, where she died February 27, 1914, aged 69 years, 6 months and 20 days. She is survived by J. J. Hartman, Boulder, Col., Edward Hartman, Mason City, Iowa, and Carl Hartman, California township, Mrs. Geo. Groff, Coleman, Mich., Mrs. Ernest Withiugtou, California township, Mrs. l.owis Case, Marion, Mich., Miss Emma Hartman, California township, Mrs. Clark Corwin, Kinder hook, Mich.,'also twenty-eight grand children and one great grand child. One sou, Julius, died Jau. 19, 1911. One daughter, Mrs. Christina Walter, died March 8, 1903.The beautiful floral offerings attested the respect and esteem of her neighbors and fritmds. Ifev- C.
