The letter came into her possessor ough her father, the late Rev. Jt Bl McGinn, who during his younger days was a member of the Pennsyl-Grand Lodge. The letter was MRtifctea. it is. supposed, after Washing-t«s„ while President had been invited tjfe attend some meeting of the GrandSeveral times. members of the Hfeswiic order ha\et^ied to'obtain pos-of the letter from Mrs. Moore, because the letter is written in tStaridngton’s own hand, Mrs. Moore hay.- continually refused to part with vise.- eelic. The letter is written oncrisp paper, and considering its ages, .*■ remarkably well preserved. Thehas remained white apd the ink buf-not faded, so that but for the sig-xaiixr and the date one would never hraM* that the letter was not written ••ewtatiy.Moore keeps the letter in an al-tewith many clippings and otherleft to her by her father.
