Input is needed to make the right decision regarding our school's future in sports.Congratulations to the thirdgrade who collected 490 labels during Feb., and now proudly display the Campbell's Championship Plaque in their room. Second place honors go tothe first grade, who contributed 375 labels for the month. Thanks to all who helped us meet our goal this month. We are already working on next year’s campaign!Miss Diischer reports thatthe senior class play has beencancelled because of lack of interest.Anyone who has ordered pizzas from band and vocal students is asked to pick up and pay for the pizzas on Saturday, March 7, between 11 a.m. and 2Saturday, when they are pickedup.Plan to attend the Band and Vocal Parents’ meeting on Wednesday, March 11, at 1 p.m. Entertainment will be provided, refreshments will be served, and a door prize will beawarded.Kindergarteners and Special Education students toured the Shelby Post Office, Feb. 20. In appreciation,students drew pictures for postmaster, Bob Johnson, who has displayed the pictures in the lobby of the post office.Two little lambs, one white and one black, visited school Feb. 16. Mrs David Wahling and Mrs Marion Sindt took the lambs to visit the first graders. The students enjoyed petting the lambs, and were surprised their hands became very greasy because of the lanolin in the wool.PRESENTED A PLAYThe second grade presented the class play, “The Goose That I^aid Gold Eggs” for family and friends recently.The Booster Club met March 1, with Mr Schleisman conducting the meeting and providing refreshments. Entertainment was provided by speech students Pam Paul and Jason Bargenquast. Pam’s interpretive reading and Jason’s humorous acting each received a I rating at District Speech Contest in Denison, Saturday.4TH AT STATEMr Schleisman reported that Terry Wilson had placedcheerleaders will be selling concessions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.SPELLING BEESpelling bees have been held in the 4th through 8th grade classrooms to narrow the number of spellers to four per grade. At 1 p.m., on March 6, the four students per grade will spell in our school cafeteria until we have a winner andrunner-up in each grade. The winner in each grade will represent our school in the county spelling bee at St. Michael’s in Harlan, Saturday,beginning at 9 a.m.Congratulations to Mr Winterhof and his speech students on fine performances at speech contest last week. Tuesday, they competed in WIC Speech Contest at Treynor. I’s were received by Pam Paul,Rob Prokupek, and Jason Bargenquast. Receiving II’s were TYaci Barrett, Allison Evans, Gina Rau, Rob Paul, Corene Peters, Steve Brock-mann, Kay lee Hundt and Brad I/ondon. Rich Hansen, Jim Gibson and Andrea Prokupek i were awarded Ill’s.At District Contest in Denison on Saturday, Jason Bargenquast, Pam Paul, i Harold Dittmer and Rich Hansen each received a I (Superior) rating. Receiving i II’s (Excellent) were Traci i Barrett, Allison Evans. Andrea Prokupek, Gina Rau, Steve | Hall, Rob Prokupek, Rob Paul, 1 Corene Peters, Jim Gibson, j Steve Brockmann and Kaylee 1 Hundt. (
