PHYSICIANS DECLARED BLACK. BURN'S SLAYER COULDN'T STAND JAIL CONFINEMENT. Dr. Sam E. Rees, the Purvis editor-physician who was convict ed on the murder of Wiley A. Blackburn, a fellow editor, at Pur vis some months ago, and sentenc ed to serve a life term in prison at a recent term of the Lamar County Court, was released from the county jail this afternoon on a $30,000 bond. Declarations of a number of phy sicians that Dr. Rees’ health would not stand longer confinement in the jail, were made before Judge Weathersby, who immediately granted bail. Rees went at once to his home in Purvis.
