She was united in marriage to Joshua Dunk in Aug. 10. 1850. and moved toCarroll countyt Ind., in 1837.To their union eight children were b rn. four sons and four daughters. Three .oii* and one daughter still survive her. There were in all tifty-flvc grandchildren and eighty-one great grand-children and six great great grandchildren.Her husband died Nov. 11, 1869, leaving her to tight life’s battles alone. She united with the Baptist church in her youth and was falthfui even unto death. She departed thislife Feb. 25, 18W7. Aged 87 years and6 days.When w«- hear of a Christian retiring in death we know that while the pilgrimage of life is closed, futurity opens to the eye a sublime state of being. Why should we mourn? And yet, ’tls witfi hearts bowed down with grief that we chronicle the death of the aged mother In Israel. W hile we mourn her death no doubt angels are singing and rejoicing with her redeemed spirit. Yet the sweet Christian Inlluence of her life, the long suffering heroic patience and fortcarance which she taught, produce rich fruitage in the ■ live* of her loved ones whom she has left behind. And may each one earnestly and prayerfully strive mo to live I that we may meet her over In the bright future beyond, and there form an unbroken union in our father's home above.The funeral was conducted by Hev. J. W. Stark at the Sharon Baptist church, and the body was laid to rest in Sharon cemetery. I
