Area residents who plan to attend the Spectacular Free dom Festival featuring Harry Belafonte, Dick Gregory, George Kirby and Sidney Poi tier, at the International Am phitheatre on Sunday March 12, or urged to order their tickets at the Chatham Avalon Park Community Council offices, 7923 South Park. According to Herbert H. Fisher, president of the coun cil, “Council offices will be open at least from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays, 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays.” The CAPCC leader also stat ed that whenever the council offices are closed, residents may leave their telephone num bers in the mail slot in the council office door and they will be called for their ticket orders. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is expected to give a major address on the war to end slums and segregation in Chicago.
