]Robbery and Attempt to Murder.— The Green Luke Democrat gives the iblJow-ing particulars of an affray, that reflects particular credit on the sons of Mr. Mott.The 1 ouse of a German named Mott, inthe town of Mecan, was broken iuto 011 Monday night, the 14th iust., between the hours of 12 and 2 A. M., by five men, who demanded that Mr. Mott should give up his money; on his refusal, the robbers beat him so severely that he was left ou the floor for dead. They theti commenced beating Mrs. Mott; two boys, sons of Mr. Mott, one 12 and the other 14 years old, who were sleeping in the chamber above, were awakened ' and came down stairs, one of them with a guu, which he discharged into the bowels of the villains. The boys then rushed at an other of the robber?, and threw him down, when another struck the oldest boy on thehead and knocked him down, Thu other boy got away and run to a neighbors, who being afraid to interfere, loaned the brave little fellow his gun. On the boy’s return he heard the robbeis coming, and hiding iu the brush, he fired at then; and wounded two more of the villains. .The next day one of the scoundrels, named George Maxson, was arrested by Philo M. Knapp, Esq., of Princetou; anothor named iV all tike, a German, was also arrested, and ofiera to turn State’s evidence, and has implicated a great muny as belonging to thegang.Some other arrests have been made, anda large quantity of counterfeiting tools have been discovered on the premises of Delos Maxon, with a lot of bogus money.It is hoped that the officers of Marquette county will use all the means iu their pow* er to break up this gang of nefarious villains.f
