Ho explained the object of the meeting and the duty of every man to contribute liberally.The following resolutions were curriad unanimously.Moved by A. Hoodie, Esq., and seconded by Mr. Juchau:—atlies. 1. That whereat towards the end of last year there were general effort* throughout the oolony to raiae a fund to meet the anticipated calamities of the present war. and that a public meeting (convened by the magistrates) was held her® on the lGth September, IBM, for that purpose, when a committee was appointed and contributions received towards the object, which are still in the hands of the trea'urer; this meeting now resolves: That the effort Uien made be renewed—that the contributions then received be increased and incorporated with those now to be made that the committee formerly appointed be requested to continue to act—to put itself into communication and connection with the central committee of the New South Wales Auxiliary to the Patriotic Fund.Moved by the Rev. A. Blac* and seconded by PunBaoou. Esq., J.P.:-Scs. 2. That the following gentlemen be requested to obtain subscriptions without delay—to hand the same over to the joint treasurers, to be forwarded by them to ti.o I atriotlc Fund.
