Q9.Last evening the irain which left this city, when four inilea east of this city, found they could proceed no further, on account of the immmense dufia of enow; and ofier spending two hours In endeavoring to force a passage through, concluded to return, and slowly backed on it* return to the city. Train due at this place from the West, arrived here in the meantime and started at the schedule time,andrun cautiously, but not sufficiently so to prevent n collision with the train hocking up. and boih trains met; the Western train was running about twelve miles an hour, and the backing train about 3 miles.The shock smashed the cars of the train backing, the passengers were thrown from their seats, and the stove upset, which set fire to the car and entirely consumed if; the engine run half way through the first car. one passenger named Hudson, of Philadelphia, had both his legs broken.caA man named William Larkin, had the toes cut off of one of his feet, and another manhad his arm broken.Washington, Feb. ^0.
