HUBBARD —The Girls varsity cagers will face Niles McKinley's Dragon Ladies in AAA District Semi-final action at 7 p.m. tonight at home. The Lady Eagles ad vanced into the District with wins over Edgewood and Boardman. Brenda McNicol and Cara Hendrix have been the leading scorers for the ladies as Brenda has collected 30 points in the two outings while Cara picked up 37. Niles comes into the tourney with wins over two tough foes, Howland (58-33) and East (62-56). Hubbard’s first win against Lakewood, not only advanced the girls in the competition, but saw Brenda McNicol break the all time school scoring record (boys and girls). Her career total now stands at 843 points, breaking the old record of 833 set by Howie Slemons. John Cross will bring his Dragon Ladies into Hub bard with some stiff competition for the locals. Senior Forward Kim Calhoun holds the Niles school record with a career point total of 964 in three years. This season she has averaged 21 points per game and scored 19 last week against East. Kara Johnson will be another tough customer for the Lady Eagles, averaging 10 points per game and playing tough defense from her center position. Tickets are $2.50 at the door and $1.50 in advance at the community pool and the high school. Hubbard retains 25 percent of pre sale ticket money.
