Or, what seems more probable in light of his 15-0 record this season — he may become Corry’s first District 10 champion, ‘The Corry Area High School 120-pound Section champion goes after a District diadem tomor row in the District 10 cham pionships at Meadville. Already Corry's only two-time Section champ, Savko will be making a bid to add a District award to his trophy case, a feat never ac complished by a Corryite, Barko will be the lone Corry representative in the event which is to be staged at Meadville High School. He was the only Beaver winner in last Saturday's Sec tion Four tournament at the local era! Wie “to individual champions from Saturday's event, make up the Section Four con tingent. Tomorrow's tournament in cludes Section One, Two, Three and Four. District 10 normally includes only three sections but has been divided into four sec tions for the wrestling tourney. The Meadville classic will be only half as large as the Section Four field here Saturday. There ‘will be 48 wrestlers — four teams of 12 each. ‘The Section Four wrestledown included eight teams of 12. Section One includes Erie schools; Section Two — Erie County schools and some inde pendents; Section Three — Greenville, Hickory, etc. and Section Four — Section Two) schools and three independents. Greenville and Erie East will have the most representatives in the tourney. Greenville capped seven individual Section Three towns while East owns six Sec tion One titlists. ‘There will be 17 schools represented tomorrow. ‘There are only four wrestlers in each weight bracket. Prelim inary or trial bouts are to be held at 1:30 with the finals dated for 7:30. ‘Savko's opening round oppon ent is Dick Stuyvescent of Greenville. The other prelim pairing pits Eric East's Ed Thomas against Fort LeBoeuf's Al Barnett. Winners of the after noon bouts will meet in the eve ning’s finals. Savio reached the finals in the 112 division last year at Erie Tech, losing to Terry’ Haise of Erie Strong Vincent. ‘Thomas appears to be the fa vorite in the 120 bracket. A four letterman, he has lost only three dual meets in four years, winning two Erie City crowns. His rec ord this season is 12-0-1. His tie match was with’ Strong Vincent's ‘Terry McNeece who is the Section One’ 127-pound long. Thomas competed in the 127 category for several bouts this season, one of his victories being over Corry's Dick Malek in the Beaver War rior match early this season. Thomas‘ 12 victories include six pins and six decisions. PALMER FAVORED BATON ROUGE, La.— Aching ears notwithstanding, Arnold Palmer is big favorite to win his third straight Baton Rouge golf title in the weather-delayed 720,000 tournament which tees off today. Heavy rains drenched the paklined Baton Rouge Country Club Ilyout Thursday, forcing postponement for 24 hours.
