Old Students Music Clubt.!On returning from England, to take up an appointment on the staff of the Shepparton High School. Miss Gladys Townshend offered to conduct a musical appreciation and choral club, for the ex-students of the school. Circulars were sent out and those interested were invited to attend a meeting at the High School in order to discuss the advisability of forming such a group, and to discuss general arrangements.At the meeting there was a representative gathering both or students who left school in 1950. and those who left prior to that dale. A group was formed within the Ex-Students’ Association-and it was decided that it should be known as “The S-H.S. Old Students’ Music Club.”Miss Vera Withers was elected pr sioent. Miss Jane Hopkins vice president, Miss Vivienne No.viand secretary and treasurer, with Miss J. Hopkins as assistant secretary. A committee of five was a iso chosen- Miss Loma Bu'/.za, Miss Patricia Cruse, Miss Dawn Livingstone. Mr Kenneth Mercer and Mr Fred Parslow, with Miss Vera Withers and Miss Gladys Townshend as ex officio members.It was proposed that ever}* other meeting should be devoted to choral work with alterant weeks devoted to musical appreciation. The club meetings will j be held every Wednesday even- \ ing at the High School in Vcrney road.- from 8 pm to 10 pm.
