POLICE MAKE ARRESTS FOR FAST DRIVINGOFFENSES ARE LIGHT BUT CITYOFFICIALS ARE TRYING TOMAKE STREETS SAFE.The Eustis police had a busy day yesterday and as Chief Davis puts it, “We were in action all day.Many arrests were made and fines and costs assessed totaled $198, while the jail sentences imposed by Police Judge Fisher W. Hannum, aggregated 210 days.Most of the arrests were made' for intoxication, reckless driving and for other infractions of the motor vehicle laws. None of the casos were of a very serious nature. In face, i jMrfy all of the actions',Itorists were due to drivers appareitt-ly failing to realize that the efforts of the police to make the streets safe for travel is as much for the good of the motorist as for others.The authorities of Eustis are determined to curb the speeder and the reckless driver, but hope to accomplish this end with as little trouble to the motorist as possible.City officials declare that they hope that drivers of motor cars will cooperate with them, rather than put the police to the necessity of imposing force.
