FREEBORN Mrs. J. H. Rice was called to act at home in Wisconsin last week by the serious illness of her mother. Mrs. O. J. Hoium and son, Irvin, have been in Albert Lea since Mon day as we have had no train since the belated one which reached Al bert Lea after midnight Wednesday night. Dr. Head was called over early Thursday morning, Feb. 24, 1910 and there is a bright baby boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allie Chris tianson; all are doing nicely. Chris Mathieson and family will leave Monday for their new home be yond St. Cloud. Mr. S. Monk who runs a sheep ranch in southeastern Montana is here for his winter visit, and reports wister quite severe up there. Reports are made that Fred Freaze has bought the three vacant lots of ©. M. Johnson and when he gets a home built will become a resident of our growing village. Mr. Edward Evenson and Miss Goldie Seaton were married at the bride’s home in Carliston township Sunday afternoon, Feb. 20, 1910 by Rev. Mr. Hotchkiss. They will wake their hcme on the farm of the groom in its town and all their extend best wishes for their Mr. and Mrs. George Jones went to Rochester Monday and on Friday at St. Mary's Hospital, Mrs. Jones pass ed safely through the operations for appendicitis and gall stones. Lars Grove bid off 31500 worth of stock grain and machinery at Carl Sorenson's auction, while Masse Pe terson realized about $2000 from his sale on Wednesday; some of his cows going at $53 with an average of $40. Chris Ottoson’s cows went from $35 to $40 on Friday and all stock seems to sell well this year. The Wells horse doctor was called Wednesday night to treat a $230 horse Willard Jones had thought of Masse Peterson. It was a case of acute kidney trouble and the fine animal died Friday night. Mr. Pe terson says he will bear half the loss but we hope there will be no further cases for the best horses cannot be spared here The barber will now accommodate his customers at the newotel which has been occupied the past week. Misses Marié Bergeson and Mahle Jacobson came up from Albert Lea to spend over Sunday at their homes in this town.
