TIPPERARY. — Very Rev. Dr. Hayes, P. P., Bansha, has handed over the handsome new hall in Bansha to the local literary society for the use and benefit of the members. At Curreeney, a mountainous dis trict, twelve miles from Nenagh, there died lately Mrs. Johanna Murphy, at the extraordinary age of 104 years. She was born in the parish of Tem plederr in 1797. The date of her birth is authenticated. She was the widow of a well-to-do farmer, and although partially bedridden for some time prior to her death, she preserved her faculties to the last. Her brother, Mr. Caleb Crowe, of Gurtahumna, Templederry, died a few weeks ago, aged 9 years. A great Nationalist meeting was held in Burncourt, Jan. 27. There were contingents from Ballylooby, Cahill, Ardfinnan, Skeheenarinky, Bal lyporeen, Kilbehenny, Mitchelstown, etc. The funeral of Mrs. Guiry, Red mondstown took place January 12, at the family burial place in Fethard cemetery. The funeral was large and representative. WATERFORD—Miss Alice Flynn, of Passage East, who was to be mar ried to Mr. Maurice Morrissey of Har ristown, died lately. Everything had been prepared for the wedding. ___The City of Waterford has lost one of its best known and most popular residents by the death of Mr. Mc Cready Bryan. He had been connect ed with the Munster Express for al most thirty years. His death occur red at the Cove, Tramore, Jan. 28. The interment was in the cemetery at John’s Hill, funeral numerously at tended.
