{a Silver Grove May Be Built by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. Petition to Be Circulated Granting @ Franchise to Occupy Indiana Avenue. The Pennsylvania company is con sidering the advisability of building an electric road in Silver Grove and a petition is to be circulated among the property holders in Silver Grove suburb, granting the company a free franchise for twenty years. If built the line will run on Indiana avenue, the first street east of Silver street, from the Pennsylvania railroad to the Charlestown qoad. The Pennsylvania Company has experimented with electricity on some of its eastern suburban lines and the trials have been successful and it is not among the improbabili ties that the Dinkey line will be operated by electric power in the future. The Silver street station on the Dinkey is one of the best patronized stations between Louisville and New Albany. The State street station, the New Albany terminus, is the only one which has a larger patronage. Last year Station Agent McCammon sold nearly 36 000 tickets at the Silver Street station. A large number of its patrons live in Silver Grove and the eastern part of the city; and are employed in Louisville and the early morning and the evening trains carry many Silver street passengers. If the Pennsyl vania Company builds its Indiana avenue line, it would eventually ex tend the line to this city and be a strong competitor of the Daisy line, which now has a monopoly of city traffic. The addition of the Pennsylvania Company’s line to the electric street service of the city would be a valua ble accession and it is believed the property holders of Silver Grove will be unanimously in favor of granting the company a franchise.
