Craft was the only house carpenter but he died that year creating a definite sortage. His wife, Almira (Nichols) then established a rooming house to support herself and family. Their sons, L.E. and E. N. were two of the four school teachers who lived in the village. Miss Clarice Zentz and A. L. Harris were the other school teachers.R. D. Long, Linn and Eugene Squires (sons of Andrew), Oscar Snodgrass, and Isaiah Lewellen considered themselves farmers even though they lived in the “city”.
