In digging for a well on his place up on Coal creek, John Beecorla struck a number of bones at a depth of 42 feet. Whether the bones were human or animal, Mr. Rescorla was unable to determine, as anatomy was one of the studies he did not go into deeply during his school days. The find would indicate that the 42 foot depth was the surface of the Coal creek valloy at one time. At this depth, Mr. Rescorla struck a good flow of soft water.
