Cummins will hoar the application for the requisition of Mrs. Slierman Dye of this city, w do is ac eased of perhaps fatally poisoning Rena Nelson of Pierre, S. D., with candy sent through the mails.Sheriff McLaughlin of Pierre will ask that habeas corpus proceedings started by Mrs. Dye’s attorney blt; postponed until after the hearing by the governor. Mrs. Dye is now under arrest.Sherman Dye, from whom she has been separated since last Christmas, says he does not believe his wife is guilty. Mr. Dye admits that he knew Miss Nelson, when she was employee in the telephone exchnge here. Mrs. Dye, when arrested, denied any knowledge of the poisoning, but declared that she had a grievance against the young woman.Miss Nelson, who lives in the conn try some distance from Pierre, was reported yesterday to be very low and it is not believed that, she can recover from the effects of the poison.Girl Dying or Dead.Pierre. S. D., March 8.—Latest advices from the home of Miss Rena Nelson, the victim of the box of poisoned candy that it is alleged was sent by Mrs. Sherman Dye of Poone. Iowa, are that the unfortunate young woman is on the verge of death. By this time she may be dead.State’s Attorney Goodner expects to have a hard fight before ho will secure the permission of the Iowa an thoritles to bring Mrs. Dye here fortrial. As there seems to be littledoubt that. Miss Nelson will die, there is great interest in the efforts being put forth to prevent the trial in South Dakota of the accused woman.An Important precedent relative to cases wherein a person is killed by poison shipped across state boundaries may bo established in the impending proceedings.t
